The accommodation is located on the Mieming Plateau, one of the most charming places in the Tyrol. It is a sunny plateau surrounded by high mountains and with magnificent views. The landscapes around are classical Alpine, and the villages are really cosy. However, the area also has excellent roads and transport links. So you will enjoy all the magic of Alpine Tyrol but a few miles from the motorway and only half an hour from Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol.
The package includes two tourist cards to enjoy the Mieming Plateau, Innsbruck and its surroundings. These cards allow free access to plenty of cable cars, museums, attractions, guided tours, bikes, swimming pools.
The following is a suggested itinerary of visits, excursions and activities that you can do while using the tourist cards included in the tour price.
Day 1: Flight to Munich
Check-in at your local airport 90 minutes before designated time of departure of your flight destination Munich. On arrival, pick-up the rental car at the airport and drive to your booked accommodation. You will have the rental car available for the whole week. Accommodation is about 2 hours from the airport. Arrival and first night in the Tyrol.
Day 2: Mieming Plateau.
Spend the first day discovering the Plateau where you are staying. You can do this by joining one of the several guided hiking trails free of charge (several options each week). Other options included in your tourist card are hiring mountain bikes, using “Nordic Walking” poles or doing Geocaching with a GPS. If it’s too warm you can take a dip in the bathing lake, the swimming pool or visit the Alpine Carnival Museum in Telfs. The options are endless, so the area is known as a paradise for family holidays. All activities and entrance fees are included in the price.
Day 3: Innsbruck, capital of the Tyrol.
Spend the day in Innsbruck. You can tour the city on foot, by bike or boarding the Sightseer Bus. Start at the old town to see the famous "Golden Roof" and climb the “Tower of the city” to enjoy the Panorama. After that you can visit the Imperial Palace and the famous "Hofkirche" with its giant statues of Kings. Later on, take the funicular and cable cars of “NordketteBahnen” that will take up to an altitude of more than 2,300 m. The ride is from the city centre and once at the top you will enjoy stunning views of the Alps. Going down you can stop at the "Alpine Zoo" with facilities and animals to fascinate the whole family (especially the youngest ones). All activities and entrance fees are included in the price.
Day 4: Family Hiking.
The Tyrol is synonymous with mountains, so it's worth walking a bit on them. We suggest you investigate the most famous child-friendly hiking trail in Austria! The "Zirbenweg" is a very flat itinerary that runs at an altitude of 2,000 m. All the trail provides breathtaking views of the Alps. You can leave your car in Igls, just by the lower station of the Patscherkofel cable car. From the upper station there is an almost flat route to TulfererAlm (about 7 km). This is the point to go down to the village of Tulfes by chairlift. From Tulfes, the post bus will take you back to Igls (car park). The panoramas are excellent and you can enjoy lunch at some of the great mountain huts. All activities and entrance fees are included in the price.
Day 5: The Tyrol of the Middle Ages.
The Tyrol is a land of castles with a long history. You can find out more about it visiting the "Tirol Panorama". It houses the spectacular circular painting of the “Battle of Bergisel”. Not medieval but absolutely worthwhile are the Olympic ski jumps in Bergisel. After that you can visit the Ambras Castle, which houses a collection of armour and the only known portrait of Dracula. You can eat in the walled town of Hall in Tirol and visit the "Mint Tower" with its child-friendly exhibitions. Finish off your day at the "Crystal Worlds", an awesome exhibition by the Tyrolean company Swarovski. All activities and entrance fees are included in the price.
Day 6: Biking in the Tyrol.
Children, Nature and Bikes is a formula that never fails! The tourist office will provide a free-map of the Mieming Plateau. You can choose some of the different cycling routes in the area. The rental bikes are also included in the price (booking recommended). A good idea is to choose a route that allows a "technical" stop in one of the pools included in the tourist card. It will definitely give some extra stamina to the kids. Dream landscapes and tranquillity are guaranteed! All activities and entrance fees are included in the price.
Day 7: The Castles of the Mad King.
Today is another full day to continue enjoying the plane of Mieming and the Tyrol, with the activities included in the card. If you prefer to continue with the visits, we offer a tour (in this case the tickets are NOT included in the price) to the famous castles of the Mad King. Located in the Bavarian Alps near the Tyrolean border are authentic buildings and fairytale princesses. On the way back you can stop in Imst to test the "Alpine Coaster", the longest summer toboggan run in the world. You climb and descend by chairlift sled on rails at full speed (they are 3.5 km long and 500 m between levels).
Day 8: Return home.
Leave in good time to get to the airport in Munich (you will need about 3 hours). Return the rental car in good time at the airport in Munich before taking the flight back to your home airport. Arrival and end of the trip.
What documents related with the car rental will Bedooin.com send me?
We will send you a voucher that will contain all the car rental reservation details. That document must be handed over at the car office on arrival. The voucher must be under the same name as the car driver and this same person needs to show a credit card at the office as well. If not, Bedooin cannot guarantee the car delivery by the rental company.
About car rental contract…
We strongly recommend reading over the car rental contract carefully and paying attention at all the details. Make sure that the contract has not extras included that you have not requested. For example: an extra driver, the fuel or a complementary car insurance (SuperCover, PAI, Super CDW, etc). You can always add extra services at car company’s help desk. And remember to return your car tank full of petrol or the car company will charge that to your credit card!
Can I take with me my own child seats for the car instead of renting them?
You can board them as a luggage in one of your suitcases and save the money of renting them to the car company. Although you can also contact us and we will book them for you in advance. Payment will be at the same car rental office.
Can I deliver the car after the time established by car voucher?
You can do it but you will be charged an extra day as deliveries and collections hours much with your trip. Your car document has got all the information about car office timetables.
What is the procedure with the flight company if I am traveling with a buggy?
When you travel with a buggy, most of the flight companies let you board it once you reach the plane. Someone will take it there and return it to you after landing. We recommend to check it in advance at the company website.
Boarding pass. Do not waste time and get them online!
Although with the ID / Passport and the flight document we send you is valid for collecting your boarding passes at company’s boarding desk at the airport, we recommend getting your boarding pass checking in your flight online, both traveling with hand luggage or if you need to board some. In this second case you will only drop your luggage at company’s boarding desk. Between 48 and 24 hours before departure you can do it and download them. Fast, easy and no queues at the airport!
Our prices include return flight tickets and all the supplement taxes such as airpot taxes, fuel surcharge and credit card processing fees.
This is a great option but we do have more. Look for an alternative by clicking on the accommodation.
